Clever budget find by Not Cot : ' Just noticed at MoCoLoCo that the new IKEA Summer 09 collection is on its way~ and after some IKEA site searching found all the new summer pieces here and all of the solar lights here! One nice thing about the IKEA selections, they all run on replaceable rechargeable batteries and use LEDs!'

Elitis is one of the best textile brands in the world. They have launched City Linen a true linen fabric dedicated to outdoor use . 32 colors are available including sharp trendy ones like acid yellow, plumb, indigo blue ...but also sophisticated grays.   

Michelle Obama has a taste for bright designs... so I think this could well be a great option  to welcome the new Obama family puppy ;-).

De Castelli is an italian brand of excellence  in outdoor high end design and this is one of their more amusing products seen at Maison et Objet 2009

Brilliant find by Reflexdeco: 'The Shadowy Chair deckchair and Sunny Longer sunbed have shapes that evoke the beach furniture found at the North Sea in Northern Europe in the twenties, become contemporary by the use of digitally drawn colour patterns and woven by expert African craftsmen using coloured plastic threads. The structure is in steel, with a robust shape.

Shadowy has curious ruffles in the end parts, in the armrests and backrest that turn into a parasol cover.

In Sunny Longer the same ruffles become a comfortable headrest. The colored patterns are obtained by the weaving of four colours.

Three versions are offered, one with three tones of green and blue, one with red, orange brown and yellow and the other with brown, white, pink and green.

  Young French designer Magali Bergon says LET IT GROW !

She has developed a paving which lets grass grow between the slabs but with help of 'chips' in each slab. You can organise the slabs as wished to create a personal pattern.

It is an interesting design  that promotes 'natural growth' as a value even in urban environment .

 ...A far cry from the decades gone by where tidy design was THE must.
