We can be innocent criminals: the lies around exotic woods

I saw yesterday a program by the extra ordinary Yann Arthus Bertrand  ,the  renowned and internationally recognised French photographer.  His new venture is now not just to show the beauty of the world but to help save it. Yesterday's show was about trees.

Via a hidden camera test in Cameroun, he highlighted the fact that even wood certified to be eco could be bad in reality: corrupt officials get paid to give the certificates. He thinks up to 50 + percent of all certified wood is not really what it should be.

Hmmm....

V shaped planters by Vondom : self watering and mobile

After yesterday's post, I set  out to know more about this new brand on my radar. And I have found out they have great collection including these new planters from their Aigua line.

' AIGUA Collection of VONDOMis the zenith in high quality flowerpots. Manufactured in a high quality resin for rotational molding, this product line performs excellent indoor and outdoor. This range incorporates in its design a self-watering device and wheels for their easy movement, which guarantees the perfect care for your plants, thanks to its water reservoir and feeding system. The plants absorb the water as moisture is needed, very useful when you are away on vacation. This product line will allow you to take perfect care of your plants with minimum effort and they will welcome it.'

At first sight these concrete outdoor tiles seem pretty boring but they have twist : once the rain has made them yet of fake stone to patterned tiles.wet they becomepatterned.

The tiles branded Solid Poetry were created as a graduation project. More at www.frederikmolenschot.nl/

Home saunas for outdoors and gardens

Now that moving homes is difficult,  home improvementNeoqiascubesaunabenchopen is even more the name of the game.

I was looking through the w.w.w to find 'design' outdoor/garden versions of home saunas, hammams, spas cabins etc...

And  realized that the category suffers from the HOT TUB syndrome...

Let me explain:

if you look at the fabulous designs brands come up with for over exciting bathrooms, you fall to your knees and beg designers to explain why , apart from Duravit's outdoor bath, all the outdoor bathing products are sooo ugly?

If you hop over to Trendir you will see great designs for saunas ...but hold your horses  they are for indoors. I contacted a brand who said the way around it was to buy a great indoor product and place it in a great outdoor room.Makes sense?

IdealstandardtrisshowercabinI would happily splash out the 10 000 pounds for a Tris a three-in-one shower cabin,   with dry sauna heat, a hot steaming bath, hydro massage or a refreshing tropical rain shower. That is if I had 10 000 pounds lying around!

Outdoor curtain in concrete tiles

Outdoor curtain , garden decor, trend, concrete design , my urban garden deco guide, home and garden http://reflexdeco.blogspot.com/ showcases this concrete tiled outdoor curtain  which is certainly intriguing !

It is by  Oberhauser SchedlerBau . It has been picked up by the blogs around the world but with little detail. Let us just  take it as an inspiration of new ways to partition an outdoor space.
