Green walls set to become a winning private home feature

Image071 Green walls were made famous in the late 90's by the high profile places they started appearing in (celebrity restaurants in Paris and iconic museums ...).
It is an easy bet to imagine that the global warming issue will accelerate the adoption of this very Eco-friendly solution.
The good news is that  more and more firms are offering solutions that make it a very valid option for private homes.

The wall is a great regulator of temperature within the home ( diminishing reliance on air conditioning in summer and heating in winter). The list of benefits from an Eco perspective is too long to detail so I can only encourage you to browse Amazon for books such as ....

the one here.I 'll keep you posted but it is a good read by  Nigel Dunnett, Noel Kingsbury to get started.

Arne Quinze: from off the wall designs to cool pool side stools

Quinzemilancreatorsofatmosphere1912 I had already come across some of Arne Quinze 's designs. Today I  discovered the range of the brand's talent via the Pan Dan blog which showcases Arne's Mutagenesis designs from the Milan show.

Seen in Paris: how the best outdoor furniture is stunning indoors

Kettalmaiafurniture I am not sure whether I should put this post in the furniture chic section or in the design one!
I must explain why: I am in Paris for a couple of days and passed by the ultra chic Kettal Hugonet boutique near the Champs Elysees.
They were presenting this Maia collection as if it was inside a flat/apartment ..and it was chic issime !

Trendir give a description of the collection that I can only support:

Kettal Outdoor Furniture - the Maia furniture collection: a truly modern design with a hint of retro inspiration

kettal-maia-furniture.jpg

Reinterpreting traditional weaving through modern technology and material, the Kettal Maia Outdoor furniture collection has a modern geometric style. The spun aluminium framework has a light open design that defies the strong solid metal. Edged with a bold strong frame, the Maia furniture clearly defines the elegant shape of these stunning outdoor pieces. The distinctive Maia table features a slim dark table top that perches upon a blooming pillar of aluminium mesh. With matching chairs that cradle you in a woven web, the Maia outdoor chairs can be fitted with precisely fitted cushions which accent the elegant chair geometry while adding a vibrant splash of colour. A truly modern design with a hint of retro inspiration, the Kettal Outdoor Furniture adds glamour and style to your gardens and patios.

Black heads out

MontagecoroEven if the in/out deco divide is said to have disappeared over the past few years, some conventional no-no's still seem to be holding out. Using black for outdoor furniture is one of them.

Coro proves with this versatile set that that is a real shame!
