Chic redefined: the rise and rise of designer edible gardens

L1000170_2

I was happy enough to be invited to the drinks party organized for the launch of Charlotte Rowe's new private garden and met the delightful head of Light IQ ( a London based lighting consultancy who has worked with the top names in UK garden design) . We were discussing My Urban Farm and Rebecca told me how her husband had been enchanted by the display of cabbages in lieu of flowers... And promised me the photo of their find: et voila!

( A kind reader has just told me these are not cabbages ... but they could so I ll keep the image!!!)

I am increasingly meeting people- far from Eco warriors !- who have decided to grow a few  food items of their own.

Vasquelumineuse2web1_3If you are tempted and want inspiration in terms of planters with design creds,  hop over the photo album dedicated to the best planters.

My dear, those are not actual cabbages. That is an Aeonium witch is a succulent, and I feat it would taste quite awful! That is unless you were a tortoise.
