Establish your fashion creds: get your Eglu

My Urban Garden Deco Guide is dedicated  to tracking new ways of enjoying urban outdoor spaces ...in style.
Over the past year I have been keeping an eye on trends that have made their way on to my style radar : urban farming and urban agriculture.  This month edgy fashionistas style bible Wallpaper  warn us that yes they are the hip next thing but we will have to show an ability to jump on the band waggon in style.

STEP 1 : GET AN EGLU:
On the kids front designers are already developing products to introduce the new generations to farmyard skills! Omlet ( www.omlet.co.uk) have developped the designer version of the rabbit and hen hut so kids can enjoy new fun without ruining the parents sense of style!

Water harvesting : why God invented oversized planters

If you are a keen gardener demands in water exist and the word 'water harvesting' has or will enter your vocabulary.
At very basic level , I would do my harvesting without ' looking like ' I was!

What would you choose ?

On your left  a proper water harvester or on the right two over sized planters (by Serralunga and Domani) that do more or less the same job: Waterbutt2

Oasi by Aqualife: the mini-pool that has it all: chromatherapy, hydrotherapy and music therapy

Phpthumb_generated_thumbnail2_2It had to happen. Outdoor spas could not stay ...hmmm... out of the designer's eyes. And of course, it is the Italians who have come to the rescue with this mini multi talented pool.

Edible gardens become 'Gastro Gardens' and turn chic

No, aiming for home grown vege etc does not mean one has to give up style... Eco-warriors  are now having to share this ambition ;-) of urban farming!
So when you have a garden designed you could get  your edible garden designed by  a designer 'a la the Gastro GC'... ie. one of the next generation of garden designers.

Imagine the ability to cook and entertain your guests using produce picked moments beforehand and thereafter eaten in sumptuous style and surroundings!

Launched this year, The Gastro Garden Company brings together the very essence of gardening as it should be – creative entertaining space, gardens which accentuate outdoor living, plants and associated products, and most importantly, fresh seasonal produce.

Confident that this is the future for outdoor design and living, The Gastro Garden Company is personally endorsed by celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, with the very first “edible garden” having been installed at his world famous “Novelli Academy” situated in Hertfordshire.
