Dear Australian readers,I have just discovered a fabulous store right by you: www.parterre.com.au .They carry the best brands and are well worth checking out.On Domani they write the following and I totally agree with them. Ps:You will find many Domani porducts here in various sections : 'Founded in Belgium Domani has been pivotal in redefining the parameters of design and materials for planters, furniture and sail structures. Domani is a collaboration of talented designers who have allowed their life experiences to influence their designs.
Designers Paul Fastre and Jean Francois d’Or have given a new interpretation to outdoor furniture through the use of zinc for furniture and pots. Paul Odekerken stretched the boundaries of design through the use of ceramics and works in bronze '

As the concept of the outdoor room establishes itself, so do new deco items. Unsurprisingly rugs are gaining designers attention. Category star, Paola Lenti has an increasingly rich collection. I like one The Modern Garden Company showcases : an on trend crochet rug that complements a great lazy seat.

I love this idea of having a set : a planter and a matching table. I hope other designers follow this idea. You will get them at www.despots.nl who also make other very desirable planters... I saw them on a trade show in PARIS and now they have appeared at a house right by where I am in Notting Hill ...( and no - I do not meet Julia or Hugh whilst I am out and about! :-))). Hopefully they are sending pics ...

Gabor Jutasi's latest work includes this oriental style bench. It is a very refreshing mix of old Asian inspiration and new materials: ie the increasingly trendy, ultra versatile and reliable Corian by DuPont.

The is a 'preview' of a very fresh design by the increasingly remarkable Monica Graffeo... I love it ...a puzzle type motif ... of squared flowers so despite the quality of the pic I decided to share it ASAP ...More next week ( and hopefully a better pic!) and on the Pan-Dan design blog.
Alveo, this two seater by Emu, is an invitation to snuggle up and relax.

They look like one of the new contemporary chic, steel and teak sets many brands have somewhere in their portfolio. But look again: the table and the bench are in fact modular: push them compact and you have a solid top. But if you more guests: pull it out and the top becomes an air attractive.Clever.They will be available in September.
